The Pipe Band has personal contacts in Brittany & intends to forge both musical & cultural links with one of the most respected pipe bands in the region that also places a strong emphasis on teaching youngsters.
The Band intends to broaden the musical experiences of its players by introducing them to Celtic music as a whole, both at home & abroad as well as introducing Scottish music to other Celtic nations & musicians.
Already within the organization there are many musicians who play musical instruments other than drums & the Highland bagpipes & they are being encouraged to perform with these in a concert environment, interacting with the traditional pipes & drums. A committee has been formed from people within the local community with a vast experience of various other committee work, particularly in pipe bands. They are a highly motivated, dedicated & capable group committed to raising awareness & funds to enable the band to thrive in the years ahead and be an organization that the local community can be truly proud of.
